Most of our classes cost $10.00 per hour. Please understand that the teachers have spent many years developing their craft to share it with you. Their time and expertise is valuable to us all!

Class Policies:

Many of our classes fill up quickly. Register in person, by phone or email to ensure your spot in the class of your choice. A $10.00 deposit will hold your place.

Full payment entitles you to a 15% discount on all regularly priced fibers purchased for the class. Please remind us of your discount when you are purchasing fibers...During your class, you will be entitled to a 15% off all yarn.

Full payment is due two weeks prior to the beginning of the class. We consider your enrollment a commitment to take the class. We order supplies and make a commitment to our teachers based on your registration. Some of our teachers drive from surrounding areas to share their skills with you.

Class fees will be fully refundable up to one week prior to the beginning of a class. After that time they will be non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event that we at Purl in the Pines cancel a class, registrants will receive a full refund.

March 2010

  • Socks on Two Circulars with Kristin Hansen. Using her own design, Kristin teaches you how to work in the round using 2 circular needles. This is a wonderful technique to master for making all kinds of projects in the round, including hats, sleeves for your sweaters, and anything else that would require the use of double points. You will complete one baby sock in class and have enough yarn left over to complete an adult pair afterwards! Saturday, 3/6 from 10am - 4pm. Cost $60 plus materials.

  • Felted Hat with Tasha Miller Griffith. This classic hat pattern by Fiber Trends is a blast to make, and a great addition to any wardrobe. Learn how to knit in the round, decrease and, of course, FELT!! This class is always a hit~ Tuesday evenings 3/2, 3/9, and 3/23 from 6 - 8pm. Cost $60 plus materials.

  • Magic Triangle Scarf with Gerry Futoran. This is a beginning class for those of you who know how to cast-on, knit, purl and bind off. You will learn the "knit in the front and back" increase, basic short row shaping and have a beautiful, impressive scarf to show off. Class meets 2 Thursdays, March 11th and 25th, from 5:30 - 7:30pm. Cost $40 plus materials

  • Spring Break Kids Camp with Patti Laird-Martin. Kids will learn how to knit in a snap! Come make an adorable Spring project. It's so much fun to knit with Patti! Please have your child bring a skein of worsted or bulky yarn, size 8-11 needles (depending on the weight of the yarn), and a water bottle. Patti will supply the patterns! Monday-Friday, 3/15-3/19, from 10am - 12pm. Cost $50.

  • Finishing class with Kristin Hansen. That sweater has been sitting in the closet waiting for you to finish it forever! Come learn the trick to making that labor of love look smashing on you or the intended recipient~ It seems too hard, but really...it isn't. Kristin and her talented sidekick Kathy make this process so much fun. Saturday 3/27 from 10am - 3:30pm Cost $45. Bring your unfinished piece~ Kristin will supply the blocking board and steamer!

  • Crochet Square of the month continues with Susan Jeffers. 3/27 from 11am - 1pm

  • Beginning Crochet with Susan Jeffers. Learn all the including chaining, single and double crochet, to get started on your first crochet project. Susan will teach you how to make a hot pad or scarf...it's lots of fun and you will have something very cool to show off! Saturday 3/27 1pm - 4pm. Cost $30 plus materials.

  • Tips 'n Tricks with Kristin Hansen. If you have been knitting for years, doing it the way your grandma taught you, or if you have just started knitting...this class is for you. Kristin will show you some amazing time savers, great tips for a professional look every time, and how to fix some of those frustrating mistakes! Come learn why "Stitch markers are your friends"! Tuesday evening 3/30 from 5:30pm - 8pm. Cost $25. Bring yarn, needles appropriate for that yarn, tape measure, scissors, crochet hook, tapestry needle...ok, just bring your tool kit!

April 2010

  • Beginning Knit with Tasha Miller Griffith. Come on...it's time to learn how to knit! Learn how to cast-on, knit and purl. You will make a scarf and begin a hat, all in just 3 enjoyable lessons. Thursday evenings, 4/1, 4/8 and 4/15 from 5:30 - 7:30pm. Cost $60 plus materials.

  • Mobius Cowl with Patti Laird-Martin. Another exciting project using the Mobius technique. This is an advanced Intermediate class and intended to be taken after completing the Mobius Scarf class. This one will be lots of fun! Pattern provided by teacher. Saturdays 4/3 and 4/10 from 3 - 5pm and 3 - 5pm respectively. Cost $30 plus materials.

  • Knitting HELP! with Tasha Miller Griffith. This is for YOU! Are you stuck on a pattern? Tasha can help~ Bring in your projects that have been on hold because yuou just don't know what to do next...or maybe you have forgotten where you are in the pattern. Whatever it is, it can be fixed! Tuesday evening 4/6 from 5:30 - 8:30pm. Cost $30. Bring your project and tools!

  • Winding River Cable Cowl with Toni Vogel. This pattern uses a reversable cable so that there is no "wrong side"! It's a gorgeous Cowl, perfect addition to your wardrobe! A picture of this beauty will be added soon...Saturdays 4/10 and 4/24 from 1 - 4pm Cost $60 plus materials

  • Design Your Own Hat with Tasha. There are so many hat patterns out there, but none of them is a perfect design for you. Come make it your own...Tasha will show you how to design it just right for you! Tuesday evening 4/13 from 5:30 - 8:30pm. Cost $30 plus materials.

  • Beaded Scarf with Kristin Hansen. How do those beads get into those knits? Kristin will show you, not just one, not just two, but...three techniques to add beads to your fabulous scarf. Saturday 4/17 from 10am -12:30pm. Cost $25 plus materials.

  • Swirl Shawl by Jojoland with Kristin. Kristin wore this amazing shawl to our first Preview Night, and it stole the show! Everyone wanted to know what yarn she used and how the heck she got those gorgeous swirls to knit up so perfectly...now, she is going to show you how! This is an intermediate class. Saturday 4/17 from 1pm - 4pm. Cost $30 plus materials
